Winter storm buries the region

The fire company has been kept busy today. The company has responded to more than a dozen calls so far for wires down, transformer fires, or possible house fires due to electrical surges from the wires and transformers. This wet, heavy snow can be extremely dangerous, causing trees and wires to break and roofs to buckle. Be cautious and aware of your surroundings at all times. If you don’t need to be outside, stay indoors.

The day was completed with a car fire in Willowbrook condominiums at midnight.

Township Declares Snow Emergency

Snow Emergency Sign

West Norriton Township has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY starting at 4 p.m. today, February 9th, through Thursday February 11th. All Vehicles MUST be removed from Snow Emergency Routes. Any questions can be directed to West Norriton Township @ 610-631-0450.

Second February Snow Storm Bears Down

With a second February snow storm heading our way only days after the region was coated with one to two feet of snow, we would like to take a moment to remind residents to dig out fire hydrants in front of their homes.

As a volunteer fire company, we do not have staff regularly patrolling to ensure all hydrants are clear.  If you have a hydrant near your home that is totally or partially buried, it would be immensely helpful if you could make it accessible.  The minutes you save the fire company by doing this could mean the difference between minor damage and catastrophic loss if a fire occurs in your neighborhood.

Welcome Home Jeff!

Police Dept. provided a police escort for the group of fire apparatus. We met Jeff, his wife Loren, and their baby daughter Madelyn on Trooper Rd. and escorted them to their home. Thank you, Jeff, for serving your country and, most importantly, welcome home! We look forward to seeing you at the firehouse again.
