On Tuesday August 8, 2023. Chief 46 had the honor of driving the new truck home. Members gathered at the firehouse to see this for the first time. The Truck Committee spent countless hours finding what type of truck will be the best fit to serve West Norriton Twp. for the next 20+ years. Members of the Committee flew out to Appleton, Wisconsin in late February to finalize the truck before it was sent to Bird-in-Hand, PA at Glick Fire Equipment. When it arrived to PA the committee then went to the fabrication stage of the process. Over the next several weeks members will become familiar with all equipment on the truck. For some that don’t know what “Squad” means here’s a quick overview. Squad is another name for Rescue Engine. This truck has a 1,000 gallon tank and 1500 gpm pump, Vehicle Rescue(Jaws of Life) tools, Stabilization struts, ropes and rigging equipment. While this truck is not in service yet, it will hit the streets in the upcoming weeks.
