15 members attended this week’s training which involved being on the Schuylkill River. Members focused on being familiar with the dynamics of the river, boat operations and even command roles.
Just shortly after training had started Jefferson Fire Co. was alerted for an Appliance Fire. Chief, Quint, Engine and Squad 46 responded immediately. Chief 46 arrived with nothing showing and assumed command, crews found a light haze of smoke in the basement that was from an oil heater. The crew from Quint 46 secured the heater with no extension outside of the unit. Chief 46 made the company available shortly after.
